Corporate

The club relies a lot on the goodwill and dedication of a few core members who offer their time and dedication to the cause in affording the club and its members the opportunity to join in the the benefits the club has to offer. Croyde Surf Life Saving is always on the wholesome crusade to raise awareness and funding for the cause.

As a registered charity, our club needs these financial incentives to help fund our training and education programmes, and replace and upgrade our surf lifesaving equipment. During 2009, our dedicated sponsorship team headed by Tony Wright and Hazel Short have accepted, very generous, sponsorship deals by the Thatch Pub in Croyde, Tiki International and Goldcoast Oceanfest. The committee always endeavours to source new revenue streams and welcome all suggestions in which direction to hunt for assistance.

In 2009 you may well have seen our fabulous new club tents in smart black and orange  printed with the Thatch and Tiki logos, plus our own brand new emblem designed by Shaun Latham of Urbansafari Productions in Braunton. We are very lucky to have such a talented  and willing club members to ensure we are professionally perceived. This is vital  when we hookup with the likes of Mr. Barouh - Managing Director of the Thatched Barn - who we are all particulary excited about, as he has committed to sponsoring us over the next decade! Many thanks Rocky! No real need to introduce the Thatch, but to those who are not aware, it is a very popular local venue, known by residents, surfers and tourists alike, as the place to be when visiting Croyde, our partnership with him will raise our profile as well as the Thatch’s.

Tiki International’s team have also provided us with valuable finance, and we have more excellent training paddle boards, sponsored equipment and many of our members have benefited from purchasing Tiki’s  discounted  wetsuits. Thanks to Dave and Tim for all their help. In a hand-in-glove incentive, Shaun and Warren Latham have offered to sponsor a new racing paddle board in exchange for the support our club members gave to the GoldCoast by acting as Stewards. Thanks also goes to Island Tribe, the sports sunblock, for sponsoring UrbanSafari Productions efforts and input with the club’s website.

The club has a sub-committee who are responsible for seeking out funding from many different sources - Trusts, Charitable organisations, independant funders, etc. and this will be an ongoing task if we are to continue to grow in the future.  Our ultimate aim has always been to establish a purpose-built facility in a key position on the beach for club use and the professional lifeguards. We are in discussions with the National Trust and Parkdean, and the process is gradually developing, with the hope that we will be able to put in outline planning in the near future.

MANY THANKS  TO ALL OUR SPONSORS  - AND GO TO OUR ’LINKS’ PAGE FOR DETAILS OF THEIR WEBSITES
